Group-Blind Multiuser Detectors for CDMA: Synchronous Systems

چکیده
ABSTRACT We consider the problem of multiuser detection for CDMA (code division multiple access) systems where the codes of some users are known while others are unknown, group-blind multiuser detection. An example is at the base station of a cellular communication system with interference from both in-cell users, with known codes, and out-of-cell users, with unknown codes. In this paper we develop a number of group-blind multiuser detectors using a subspace approach. One class of detectors developed has a computationally efficient structure of a subspace estimation common to all known users, followed by a simple processing specific to each user. The performance of the detectors is compared to that of the purely blind detector and the non-blind detector, and the group-blind detectors are seen to have the best performance.

Nonlinear Multiuser Receiver for Optimized Chaos-Based DS-CDMA Systems
Chaos based communications have drawn increasing attention over the past years. Chaotic signals are derived from non-linear dynamic systems. They are aperiodic, broadband and deterministic signals that appear random in the time domain. Because of these properties, chaotic signals have been proposed to generate spreading sequences for wide-band secure communication recently. Like conventional DS...

Blind multiuser detectors are attractive for the suppression of interference in a CDMA environment. This paper deals with the performance of group blind multiuser detector for synchronous CDMA is analyzed. The blind multi user detectors are Direct Matrix Inversion(DMI),Subspace and group blind multiuser detector. The performance analysis is performed by means of the Signal to Interference Noise...
متن کاملPerformance bounds for linear blind and group-blind multiuser detectors
In blind multiuser detection for CDMA systems, the receiver knows only the code of the user of interest, while in group-blind multiuser detection the receiver knows a subset of codes, e.g., the in-cell users in a basestation. This paper derives bounds for the performance of linear blind and group-blind multiuser detectors. The bounds are derived under a number of different system assumptions. T...
متن کاملBlind Channel Estimation and Multiuser Detection for Multi-rate Cdma Communications
The future wireless communications systems should be able to offer wide variety of applications, which have vastly different quality of service (QoS) requirements. The time-variable QoS may require the support of variable bit rates on the wireless links to the individual users. Multi-rate DS/CDMA is a promising basis on which to support the variable bit rates on the individual wireless links. C...
متن کاملRobust multiuser detection in non-Gaussian channels
In many wireless systems where multiuser detection techniques may be applied, the ambient channel noise is known through experimental measurements to be decidedly nonGaussian, due largely to impulsive phenomena. The performance of many multiuser detectors can degrade substantially in the presence of such impulsive ambient noise. In this paper, we develop robust multiuser detection techniques fo...
